Where has the time gone???

It's been months since I posted on here. Don't know why. I've been busy I guess.

Well it's time for pictures!! I have my first craft sale this weekend. Made tons of stuff, hoping to make tons of money! haha

Thrift store find........

Wow, I was lucky today, found to big bags of yarn at a thrift store. Both were assorted colors and types, but one had complete skeins and a few of each color, and the other had a few complete skeins and leftovers.

Gee, I didn't think keeping up with a blog could be difficult:) I haven't posted, because nothing's going on.

We're waiting for Grandbabies to be born, for nice-warm weather, school vacation.

I have tons of yarn and even more crochet ideas. Right now I'm crocheting a doily made of yarn, I love the pattern, but it's from a book from the library. Now if only I could memorize that pattern..............

I can't believe it's mothers day already, this year is going by so fast.
We had our second baby shower last weekend. Now all we need is those babies to make their arrivals!

I feel like I hit the yarn jackpot this week!! Something I hadn't done in a few years: I bought tons of yarn (or so it seems to me!) The other day I bought enough yarn scraps at a thrift shop to fill a banana box!! Natually some has to be washed, oh but what a great time it will be to play with all that yarn!!! Today, I found fancy, velvety eyelash type yarn for a dollar a skein at Big Lots. I got two for me, two for junior crocheter! Then I found different types of eyelash yarns for about a dollar a skein at Mardens; they also had fluffy Baby yarn and a pretty purple yarn. I'm just not good at knowing the types of yarn, all I know if I hadn't bought them at these prices, I wouldn't have bought them!! Yesterday, I finally got my Happy Hooker book, so naturally needed some camo yarn and a blue/purple variegated yarn. As you can see by my post, I'll be doing alot of crochet for christmas this year!!

Ahhh, life is good, friends are wonderful!

Yesterday, Sunday April 22, 2007, I along with Darlene (DIL's Mom) and about 30+ friends/family showered my DIL and Son with lots and lots of baby gifts! It was the nicest Baby Shower I've ever seen. I am still in awe of everything they received--from baby tees to sleepers, tons of summer outfits to a home made knit sweater/hoodie and home made quilt both made of camo yarn and fabric.
What a variety--from tees with teddy bears on them to a black tee with a skull on it.
They have everything--but the baby. He'll arrive at the end of May. We are all excited for this new member of our large family!

And I am so pleased that Darlene and I were able to do this together, because that's what families are all about.......

And now.....................to get ready for Baby Shower #2 for my Daughter and SIL!

It's nice to have family and friends that are so caring. I appreciate them all.

crochet, crochet, crochet

It seems like I"ve crocheted all week!
I made (designed) shoes for Amber bear, she's so much fun to crochet for.
I designed a baby sweater for my new Grandson coming in May. I found alot of baby sweaters online, alot of were nice, but I wanted a small sweater, done in regular ww yarn and a quick pattern. so I designed my own.
Also made a 4 piece outfit for the Big Bratz Baby doll.
Now she's wearing a dress, shoes, cape and hat.
And Blythe got some hats.
Hope I have time to take pictures tomorrow.

Amber the Bear

This is Amber the Bear. We rescued her from a thrift shop. She's a pretty, BAB bear. She came dressed in a cute outfit, but needed a bath. Originally I bought her for myself, to use as a sewing helper and model for when I do craft shows at christmas time; but my daughter had other plans for her. I knew once she named her, that was it!!
Lucky for me, Amber needs things, and I love to make things. I've been busy crocheting for her. So far she has some accessories and today I've figutred out how to make mary jane shoes and clog-like shoes and will have pictures of those soon.

Keep watching for Amber adventures, I think this little bear has a busy and bright future ahead of her!!

Our weather is so weird, it rained so hard today and the wind was wild. When did April stop being April????

I joined a sock CAL on Crochetville. I've always wanted to crochet socks. My daughter joined it too, she's alot more ambitious about it than I am, so she'll keep reminding me to finish the socks!lol

Well, here I am, blogging. We're waiting for a major storm, thank goodness we don't need electricity to crochet--I've been known to crochet by candlelight. I'm working on christmas gifts and will have pictures soon!
